Registration 101: Getting Ready for 2020-2021 Classes
We will be meeting with all of our students throughout the months of February & March to provide assistance as you all make your course selections for the 2020-2021 school year.
This link will take you to the Student Guide for RISING 9TH GRADERS which explains the registration process. Thislinkwill take you to the Student Guide which explains the registration process for all other grade levels.
Essentially, you will go ahead and pick your courses on your own first, and then we will meet with each student in the media center to ensure that everything looks okay on your schedule and we don't notice any red flags! Therefore, students will need to select courses BOTH in PowerSchool & on the Registration Card.
My Recommendations: 1. Pay attention to the pre-requisite requirements for courses. 2. Think long and hard about where you will be most successful - you don't have to take all honors or AP classes. 3. Talk to your teachers to see which level they would recommend for you moving forward. 4. Attend our CURRICULUM FAIR! This will be held on Monday, February 10th from 4-6pm. The Curriculum Fair is a great opportunity for you to be able to ask any questions as well as talk to the teachers to gain a better idea about the various courses you're interested in.
Due to large caseloads and high volumes of requests, I am not able to set up any meetings to discuss course selections and registration prior to your scheduled registration date. I can promise that all of us counselors will be there to provide support and answer questions when your registration time comes!
We are also going to be hosting information sessions for parents on February 12th. There will be a session at 9:00am and another one at 2:00pm.
