The Different Application Timelines |
Early Action: This allows you to get your application submitted and reviewed before the round of regular applications. The only downside is that these deadlines can pop up fast!
Early Decision: This option allows you to get your application in early and reviewed before the round of regular admissions, however unlike early action THIS IS BINDING. By applying early decision to a school, you are agreeing to attend that school should you be accepted so be very careful when applying early decision. Regular Application: This is just the standard deadline that a college requires an application to be turned in by. This is typically going to be anywhere from November to January. Always be sure to check each college to see what their deadline is. Rolling Admissions: This is more of a first come - first serve basis, however colleges with rolling admissions may continue to accept applications beyond regular admission dates and acceptances are continuously being sent out as more applications are received. The risk with rolling admissions is that if you wait to late to apply, there may not be any spots left. |
